Differential Changes

Ever since the start of the Rush Rally series, people have asked for the ability to fully tune the drive train. My main reason for not allowing this up until now is that the game is mainly made for handheld pickup and play. Allowing a user to have full control of either either full RWD or FWD cars and a digital on/off accelerator is asking for trouble. Basically make the car fully rear wheel driven, give it loads of power, and then allow the user to control with this on or off acceleration is really not going to end well, most likely lots of wheel spinning. But with RR4 I decided that I would open this up for the fun of it, and also bring in more analogue style touch controls for those playing on handheld. Those with pads have analogue triggers so this is not such an issue for them.

So when you install different differentials now, you open up different tuning options. You can fully customise the drive balance (FWD/AWD/RWD), and also the LSD locking ratios. If you don't know what these are, then I'd suggest you don't bother touching them, or read up on how they all work.

Notice how when you change the drive balance, the car drive category changes (right hand side of the stats bar), this is now used in more advanced event restrictions.
